AMEC wins three-year environmental and sustainability framework agreement for Government Procurement Service

London, United Kingdom (17 May 2012)

AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has been awarded a three-year framework agreement by Government Procurement Service to provide environmental and sustainability advice, support and delivery services across the UK public sector.

GPS is an executive agency of the Cabinet Office, providing procurement savings for the UK Public Sector as a whole and specifically to deliver centralised procurement for Central Government Departments. AMEC’s appointment covers the provision of policy and technical advice, and support and delivery services across seven key areas of air, water, climate change, landscapes and seascapes, noise and statutory nuisance and the built environment.

Richard McLaren, Managing Director of AMEC’s UK Environment & Infrastructure business said: “We are a major supplier to UK central Government departments, executive agencies and regional and local government across a wide range of services. We welcome this new framework agreement, which will help facilitate the use of common services and procedures in public sector procurement and thereby improve efficiency and value for money for our public sector clients.”

The new framework agreement is now live. AMEC’s Environment & Infrastructure business already operates a number of other framework contracts with government bodies in the UK including the Environment Agency, Carbon Trust, Partnership for Renewables, WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) and the Ministry of Defence.
